The banana plants in our pool garden are a big feature in the summer and this year they have been spectacular. Its always a problem working out whether to try to protect them over the winter or cut them down. They do come back from the root if you cut them back but last year we overwintered one and it got huge this year so we are trying again.
We have used all the dry leaves collected from the garden which is a bonus as there are so many to deal with and we often resort to burning some. The result is not too unsightly so we will wait and see what the winter does.
All is now under control with Kidsmas preparations - someone told me today snow is forecast on Saturday, I hope not until after our journey.
